Re: [GWL]: Subjects for discussion on this list

This is sort of an indirect answer.
I just want to let the list know that the goal here is for honest,
truthful postings since a false story to GWL could cause a serious ripple in
the industry. That is, the members of the GWL have the ability to publish
items far and wide through their various outlets and it would take only one
mispublication to create problems. For that reason, we need to be
scrupulous in what we post so we don't have any false effects on the
horticulture/garden writing industry - we'd just be shooting ourselves in
the foot anyway. Or to put it the way Paul Harvey says it, "self government
doesn't work without self discipline."
As list owner I do not want or intend to impose censorship, and I believe
in the professionalism of the membership in making sure that isn't ever
necessary. I also know that everyone, including me, has bad days, and that
things can slip through the cracks despite our best efforts. For that
reason, if any problem does arise, I will at least try to take everything on
a case-by-case basis.
Most of all, thank you for your patience. This is the first time I've
ever done this sort of thing and working with so many people at one time is
a new experience.
