Hi Sheri,

   I suppose it really all depends on what you want to do with the photos
   once you have them.  Are these for publication, your own personal
   reference, or...

   Also, how close do you plan on getting when photographing flowers?  The
   closer you are, the more impact your film speed will have on your
   depth of field (how much stuff appears in focus).

   Personally, I only shoot ISO 50 (Velvia) for everything, but that often
   means that I have to use a tripod to get good closeup shots.  It would
   also make photographs of hummingbirds extremely difficult without a 
   flash.

   Higher speed films (such as 800) let you get by with much less light,
   but you'll end up sacrificing some image quality because your photos
   may appear more 'grainy'.
