I am using 'Slide Librarian' (www.spansoft.org).

It wasn't that expensive, and although it took a little time to get to
grips with, it has proved adaptable. There is room for plenty of keywords
per picture, and a number of search options as well as capabilities to
print out lists, virtual 'light tables' and some slide lables.

I'm not sure if they do a Mac version, but they used to do a free
trial version which will give you an idea if it is going to be suitable for
you.
