Jeff and committees past and future:
I'm just really curious as to why there were no evaluations for the
meetings.

Good question. In the past there have been evaluation forms to fill out. I
don't know why there were none for the Chicago meeting. I sent an e-note to
Bob Lagasse with our evaluation. Actually our only complaint was the lously
service at the hotel. We felt the programs were well balanced and that the
tours were appropriate for the group and run very well. The trade show was
smaller than before, but laid out nicely and had a balance between hard
goods and plants. I think all the meals were sponsored which is often hard
to achieve. All in all, Nancy and I gave the meeting high marks. There
will always be some seminars of no interest to some and of great interest to
others. The tensions for the planners is to have a mix of seminars for
professional advancement and seminars about plants and gardens. The tension
for the planners of the tours is to have a mix of public and private
gardens. The Chicago folks did well. The buses ran on time, the food was
edible, and the it was terrific to see old friends and make new friends.
The only conundrum is that we of the more mature status in life find it a
bit difficult to go gangbusters from 7:00 to 9:00 at night with no naps.
