Re: magazine readership


I think part of it is distribution. Most mags are sold at checkout lanes of
grocery stores. In my small town Better Homes and Gardens and Women's Day
dominate the racks. Also they have increased their number of  spin offs  -
the special interest mags. BH&G just cranked out another one. The Garden
Doctor. Another slice off the pie.   Short features- lots of pretty
pictures. It sells. I call it sound bite gardening - like doing a 3 minute
feature on TV.
