Dear Friends,
I'm sorry for the hasty, impersonal note...I'm still trying to live by nature's rhythms!
Any chance that you can help get the word out about Kitchen Garden Day? Details below.
Best wishes,
Roger

Kitchen Garden Day
(Gemüsegartentag, giorno internazionale dell'orto, journée mondiale du potager, día mundial de la huerta)
A Global Celebration of the Most Local of Foods
22 August/agosto/août 2004
International Kitchen Garden Day is a global, decentralized celebration of delicious local foods produced on a human scale. It is an opportunity for people around the world to gather in their gardens and fields with friends, family, and members of their local communities to enjoy the multiple pleasures and benefits of locally-grown, home-cooked, organic foods.
Kitchen Garden Day is coordinated by Kitchen Gardeners International <http://www.kitchengardeners.org> (KGI), a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in the US with friends and supporters in over 35 countries. KGI?s mission is to celebrate home-grown, home-cooked foods in their many international forms and to promote their role in bringing about a fairer, healthier, more sustainable, and more pleasurable food system.
?If some of the world's largest food companies can establish the entire month of February as 'Snack Food Month', kitchen gardeners deserve at least a day to promote their own version of good eating,? says Roger Doiron, founder of KGI. "Kitchen Garden Day is about celebrating the bounty and diversity of delicious foods coming from our own backyards, both literally and figuratively."
