Interesting that other responders reported no issues with the Toronto
meeting. I had to jump through hoops to get raffle prizes delivered in a
timely fashion and not held at customs for weeks. (finally, someone at FedEx
told me: just label the boxes "unsolicited gifts" and they'll get through.)
Some U.S. vendors ran into the same issues I did (I believe garden.com's
boxes of catalogs never did arrive.) I came in by plane, and made the
mistake of saying I was in Canada for business -- and got sent to
bureaucrat-city to sit around and wait to fill out reams of idiot paperwork,
and then wait for it to be processed ... and that was pre-9/11.
