WHO:    The biggest names in gardening are teaming up to unveil 
the hottest of the hot new plants for spring 2006 during the first-ever
Eastern Performance Trials.

Sponsored by the Garden Centers of America (GCA), this first time event
is showcasing the "super-performers" of some 30 of the leading
horticultural companies in the world.  The event is expected to attract
thousands of garden retailers, growers, horticulturalists and home
gardeners to the six display garden locations in the Mid-Atlantic. (See
below for locations)

WHAT:  	Preview the plants the experts are calling the 'super stars" of 
2006 - from bedding flowers and vegetables, to vines, shrubs, trees,
foliage and perennials. Each location will feature the plants in
"inspiration gardens" designed by regional landscape architects and
garden designers. Plants will be available nationally were hardy.

WHEN:	Monday, Sept 19 to Saturday, Sept. 24, 8 am to 5 pm.
Home gardeners can preview the 2006 plant collections during select
"Home Gardener Days" at each location. (See below for dates and times in
your area)

WHERE: 	The plants will be displayed at six locations in the
mid-Atlantic 
from as far north as Philadelphia to as far south as Virginia Beach.  

WHY:	Find out what's new first.  Garden Week is the first time folks
outside the industry get a sneak peak at what's new in gardening for
next spring.
