Re: Gone TOO Far?

-Op-ed cartoons run in newspapers and magazines where there are forums for discussion on both sides, and there are two sides to this story. Tony's gardening catalog is just that a gardening catalog and does not provide this forum.  We are all in this business becasue we believe in joy and beauty of gardening.  There is no doubt the garden world is saddened by the demise of Heronswoods and Dan's wonderful prose, but this is a mean sprited way to comemorate it. Rather than promote plants Tony took the opportunity to attack a competitor.

We loved the Heronswood catalog because instead of dry plant descriptions Dan included his opinions, side remarks, and snippets of his life.  ATony can be counted on to deliver his never-to-be-humble opinions along with the flora... I say it's all for the better, and makes for a richer world.
