My 14 year-old son tells me that if I'm serious about getting more people
involved in gardening, it's time that I "got with the program" and realized
that the medium is the message.
So, feeling my way, I've created and/or uploaded a few streaming videos that
might be of interest.
Beauty Food: a sort of music video anthem I created for another way of
eating.a home-grown, locally-grown way.

Eat Real Food: This one-minute animated short co-produced by an
award-winning youth animator and myself follows 8 year old Polly as she
navigates her way past junk food temptations on her way to something truly
satisfying.

Kitchen Gardeners Unite: KGI and Kitchen Garden Day were featured yesterday
on Maine TV. Note that the reporter got one of the stats wrong: the 1%
home-grown figure she mentions refers to the situation in the US, not the
world, fortunately.

While I don't see any of these videos offering any competition for the more
spectacular "diet coke and mentos" content that youtube specializes in,
perhaps we can attract a few new people to gardening through them.
Please view and share the ones that speak to you. If you feel moved to write
or blog about them, all the better. For bloggers, it's easy to embed the
videos into a post.
Thanks,
Roger
PS: Be sure to get out in your gardens (and bring a neighbor or two) this
Sunday for Kitchen
<http://www.kitchengardeners.org/2005/10/kitchen_garden.html> Garden Day.
I'll be out in mine, umbrella in hand.
