Re: SunPatiens
Interesting that you bring up the SunPatiens. They were featured in one of
the grower's booths at the GWA Symposium trade show this year. When I asked
what makes them sun plants the exhibitor explained that impatiens were
hybridized for more abundant blooming, which weakened the plant. The
SunPatiens, he said, were taken back to their (sun-loving ?) origins and
rebred.
Thanks for the report on your experiences, Gerald. I live in the Midwest
where are temps. were over 100 degrees for about 10 days this summer and
didn't top out at less than 90 for daytime highs through July and Aug. We
have lovely humidity to go with the heat here. So, I bet they'll be
screaming for mercy in my neck of the woods, too.
