help, voles!
My red tabby usually does a good job with the rodents, though this summer
he's not been as active. I think a few new felines in the neighborhood have
redirected his aggressive tendencies. Out here in the country, not to
mention rural New England, I can't imagine a law passing restricting cat
roaming! That's a new one for me.
I'll do the apple trick & see what I get. I have twice now seen a rodent
scurrying away into the mulch at dusk. I don't have chipmunks, & got rid of
my moles a few years back (milky spore is great, take away the grubs & the
moles go too, & they were in the lawn anyway, not the garden beds) so I
don't know what else would be making the holes.
