Re: Tomato Tasting Festival Ideas
Several years ago I did a blind tomato tasting because the mix
included Orange Amana, Pink Brandywine and a large green heirloom -
the name escapes me. Colored tomatos were rare at that time and we
didn't want our judges to be prejudiced by color or shape. Some were
pretty lumpy. Among our tasters was Julee Rosso, co-author of The
Silver Palate Cookbook. The winner was the big green heirloom. Folks
were amazed when they took off their blindfolds. If you're looking
for accuracy, don't include too many varieties.
