Re: East Coast Earthquake
I was sitting on a plane on the runway at PHL, awaiting takeoff. The plane shook, but planes always shake. Didn't think anything was going on until the pilot announced that we were on "indefinite hold" due to a 5.8 quake in DC and NYC, which had knocked out some control towers.
I sat there wondering how a quake could hit DC and NYC simultaneously. Was it really a quake? With the 10th anniversary of 9/11 -- the last time those two cities shook on the same day -- fast approaching, the flyer's mind flies to awful possibilities.
We took off after a delay of just a few minutes. A very uneasy flight.
