I agree that the entry fee is high.  I've been grateful when my publishers 
have entered my work in my behalf (and paid the fee), but so far I have been 
unwilling financially to go out on a limb for myself.  I know the competition 
is stiff, and it's a lot to spend on the off chance of winning.  Catriona
