According to my calculations, only 8 of the over 50 GWAA awards categories are for writing. This seems somewhat strange to me since the awards are coming from an association of garden writers. I would like to see more categories for the books, magazine stories (regional/national publications?) and perhaps a divvying up of the newspaper columns according to circulation or syndicated/nonsyndicated. I'd like to send in an entry though the comments I've been reading are discouraging. The Gardenwriters Digest is informative and thought provoking. I appreciate the opportunity to read what other writers are concerned about.
