Re: [GWL]: The decline of garden writing

Hummm,
    May have a short story for you here, Jeff.
    A national gardening magazine came in, I picked it up glanced through the contents and tossed it back down on the table. My comment was"I do not know why I still subscribe to this magazine. They never have anything of value to say any more". My partner, who had just looked through the magazine, remarked "Well, Mr. Know It All, some of us have not been there and done that on all that there is in gardening."
    She is right... and I have not been there and done that on all that there is in gardening. Reminded me to reopen my mind and not be so snobbish. Bet if I read the articles I will find things I either did not know, or has changed since the last time I touched on something that is not within my specialty.
    Perhaps you truly are that intelligent and experienced, but I can not remember the articles I wrote two months ago. Being a nursery owner who much continually locate and grow new plants to stay in business, I can assure you there is always something new and exciting to experience and then relate to other gardeners.

I’ve been gardening for 30 years and I seldom find an article or column worth reading to the end.  The writing is not bad, it is just the subject is boring to me; I have read it before  several times. 

Garden writing in my view may be becoming dangerously boring.
