Did she give your name? Why on earth would you be flattered to be ripped off and not even
credited??

Plagiarism does seem to be rampant these days - and different sites and programs to check for it
are being developed in response to that.

But I am finding that many people really don't understand exactly what constitutes plagiarism -
and have a far too broad definition of what constitutes Fair Use. I've even heard someone assert
that as long as you remember to include the copyright notice you're ok in using someone else's
photo!

I have seen a couple of articles that are similar to my own - and even incorporate a few phrases
that are undeniably mine, but the bulk of it was enough of a rewrite that I didn't say anything.
But I haven't really hunted around to see what else of mine may have been ripped off.

But I do know that as I surf around looking for links to use in my articles I run into many
pieces repeatedly - almost word for word. The more popular the Internet gets the more plagiarism
I seem to find. The bigger it gets, the more the confidence level of the "borrower" that they
won't be found out.
