Tastes differ, and I'd bet that those you think are guilty of gaudy don't
think they are. I've heard a fellow introduce a slide show (his own
photography), and make snide comments, eliciting laughter from the
audience. They're cheap laughs, and the audience knows it. He thinks he's
a wit, and by gosh, he's half right. In addition to this insulting parade
(he hasn't shown my yard to my knowledge), he never gets the slides in
right, so he has to refocus each slide. Mr. Professional. BTW, taxing
cigarettes didn't eliminate smoking. Margaret Lauterbach
