Copyrighting Gardening Terms

The discussion of patenting compost tea reminds me of
a related issue: Has anyone noticed that there's
someone on the Gardenweb forums who claims to have
copyrighted the terms "winter sowing", "spring sowing"
and "summer sowing"? Does that make it illegal for
anyone else to use those terms without giving this
person credit?
