Serendipity is another free blog solution--quite similar to WordPress I gather. I'm using it (Serendipity) for the blog at my website...it's pretty intuitive and is currently up and running at BotanicalGardening.com (hit the button for BG Blog), although I've got to tweak its appearance a bit...
