Re: Subject: Re: Finding Places To Speak
Thanks for all the great suggestions. I am going to start implementing them.
I recently had a lady from a church group call wanting a program - I would
get advertising, they would get a program - she said 'see how it works. The
ladies would come to my business to buy from me.'
My thought was which of those nine ladies would hire a writer. Hmm. Seems
like I would get the short end of the deal - so, I decided to talk on Plant
A Row and ask them to volunteer. Since they meet a block away from my house
it seems like a good idea.
This is my last freebie. From here on out, they pay or they don't get me -
period.
My next question is, how many of you who give talks have a book and promote
it during your talk? Do you generally sell books after a talk?
I have a poem book coming out in January that I am thinking of buying extra
copies of to promote at my talks but am not sure this would work since the
only gardening thing in the whole book are the photos!
Thanks and Happy New Year!
