Descriptive Writing

Does anyone else on the list find that they struggle with descriptive
writing?

Does anyone have any tips on how to come up with phases such as Nigella
Lawson does in her books that would work well in garden writing?

I find that I tend to write more factual - cut and dried - material that
doesn't play on words but rather gives the reader good, solid advice that
they can use immediately. I have a much more journalist style. I need to get
more visually descriptive, almost to a fictional point, while still offering
good, solid, practical advice for a project and am at a loss.

Thanks and happy holidays,

Sheri
