I know that many of you will be writing about edibles more in 2009. One
story idea you might want to consider for January is the Eat the View
campaign to replant a Victory Garden on the White House lawn. We've had
quite a bit of coverage this year and are anticipating more (I've done
interviews recently for the New York Times, the Washington Post, NPR and
AARP magazine). Our campaign has been chosen as one of the top nine ideas
(9 for '09) for the Obama administration as part of the OnDayOne.org
contest. We've also got some well-known gardeners and food people lined up
behind us. Last but not least, we're proposing an ambitious garden that
would be big enough to plant not just a row for the hungry, but several
which offers a way of talking up the PAR program.

We've also got more than 10,000 people supporting us on Facebook:

Please join me in asking President-elect Obama to "Eat the View" by
replanting a garden on the White House lawn.
