Yes, Judy, Marty was truly a delight. While still in good health, she would 
always participate in the Karaoke parties and often dedicated "My Funny 
Valentine" to my husband Ron and me. At the last symposium she attended (a 
couple of years ago?), she was extremely frail and with a companion; and no 
one thought she would be able to attend the party. Although she did not 
sing, she did make an appearance. Hubby walked over to where she was seated 
and asked her if she would like to dance. Her face lit up and she said yes. 
They danced right next to her chair so that she would not have to walk to 
the dance floor. Although suffering the beginning stages of Alzheimer's, she 
thanked Ron and told him he would always be one of her Valentines.

Yes, she will be missed. Thank you, Nancy, for letting us know.

Thanks, Nancy, for the news about Marty Figley. Not only was she a longtime 
GWA member, but she attended the annual symposiums regularly for many years, 
too. A delightful person. I missed her in Raleigh.
