* While some seed companies have already switched to alternate shipping
companies, U.S. Postal Service suggests using another carrier to mail seeds
or other plant materials. It issued a warning against the effects of
irradiation on seeds, cuttings, plants and bacterial growth. USPS will
irradiate packages, letters, flats, express and priority mail with stamps.
It will not irradiate USPS Express mail with meter strips or corporate
accounts; priority mail with meter strips or permit indicia; all registered
