Hello Sharon,
    The two are both legitimate...ramosa and racemosa.....
Cimicifuga racemosa is our native Black Snakeroot / Fairy candles and C.
ramosa is Eurasian.. generally shows up in the darker foliage forms such as
"Atropurpurea", "Brunette"
    Still, you certainly would be handy at proofreading come catalog writing
time.......
