I just learned that Barry Yinger suffered a terrible loss at his nursery,
Asiatica, due to a fire in late January. The nursery stock is fine but he has
lost the records -- all the paperwork. If you ordered from Asiatica, you need to
redo your paperwork.
For more information about the fire -- he lost all of his decades-worth of
slides, notes, collection of 6000 garden books, Japanese plant catalogs, the
whole deal, just incredible irreplaceable stuff. Here's a news report about
it.
Horticulture has lost an amazing reference source -- on the better side,
Barry was not home at the time and is fine.
