RE: Presentation Surveys

Hi Sheri,

I use an evaluation form.  Generally, the small groups that I speak to don’t do evaluations of their own, they’ll get together and trash me later <smile>.

So I have a very simple form.  I’ve taken courses in designing survey instruments but for these purposes, to give opinionated people a chance, a simple one is good.  I have received feedback that I’ve used to adjust particular programs.

Each one is designed around the specific speech and usually asks about satisfaction with a section: balance, pictures, story.  I use a three scale system of smiley faces:  happy, neutral and sad.  But the important thing is to leave lots of room for comments.  Lots!  If it is anything but positive, how they marked the scale will only leave you scratching your head.  So the scale is more of a reality check.  People who give me helpful comments often give me high marks on the scale.

I also ask them to fill out a section with name and address for mailings if they want them.  And/or an e-mail address if they prefer.  (It’s a business.)

Subject: [GWL] Presentation Surveys

Hello. Does anyone on the list have a survey that they give after a presentation that they would share? Or even tips for what might be included in one?

I have numerous presentations coming up and would like to continue to improve them. I think asking the listeners for their thoughts might be the best way to go.

Please email me at S*@exoticgardening.com

Thanks!

Sheri
