I would say if you're going digital, you should have a CD burner. That is likely going to mean getting a new computer. One way to handle the mountain data of digital pics is to save them onto a separate external hard drive (prices are coming down all the time) as well as keeping backup copies on CDs or DVDs.
 
I've said it before, going digital eats money. No regrets here, even though I will need a new computer before long too, as my old Pentium 3 groans under the load of Photoshop. Still, at the end of the day, shooting digital is very liberating.

My thought was to transfer the images to "floppies" since I don't have a CD burner.  Would that still work?
