I pre-sprout or close to pre-sprout a number of crops. Golden beets are an example--their germination is poor, so to increase it, I soak them for 12 hours in warmish water with seaweed extract. Then, if I am using an automatic seeder, I dry just the surface of the seed before loading it into the hoppers--if you load it wet, it will clog the seeder.
I also presprout spinach for fall crops because the soil is generally too warm for good germination at that time. Again, timing is key--you don't want the radical to dry out, so you have to pull them out of the soaking water and dry the surface right before you plant them.
When you do this, it's imperative to seed into moist soil and also to put on irrigation right away.
