Re: mushroom compost

I, too, use it by the truckload.  It would be interesting to know what made them believe the lung disease came from the mushroom soil or if they were only guessing.

I received a disturbing email from a friend, a very reliable and knowledgeable gardener, who has another friend with an incurable lung disease supposedly caused by mushroom compost. 
 
I do not use mushroom compost myself but I have friends and readers who rely on it heavily and use truckloads of the stuff.  Has anyone else heard stories about dangers of using mushroom compost?  If this is true, I think it is something we need to inform our readers about.  Please contact me either off or on-line.
