Chicken Feed Marigolds

Listserv member Gerald Burke has a fascinating article in the winter issue
of The Heirloom Gardener on how orange marigolds are used to make egg yolks
a deeper color. The flower petals are fed to laying hens. Another more
important benefit is that the flower pigment contains beneficial compounds
that aid eye health.

Kudos to Gerald for this article.
