The National Trust in the UK prohibits any photography of it property  
(house,contents or gardens) from being reproduced.  If you have any images  that you 
took and now use for commercial work whether it be presentations,  articles 
or books - they prohibit it.
The images that you can use are their own set and I think you can get an  
agreement to that - doubtless they need a fee though..
The National Trust though has so many UK properties that most of us have  
taken and used photos from Hidcote or other places.

Dear Mrs Kate Copsey,

Thank you for your email requesting permission  to reproduce photographs
of National Trust gardens and properties.  Unfortunately, we do not allow
any commercial photography to take place at  any NT sites where an entry
fee is applicable. As a commercial enterprise for  a charitable
organisation, we have to enforce restrictions on any  reproductions made
of NT sites. The National Trust Photo Library therefore  retain the legal
rights to all images of entry paid NT sites.
