Record keeping recommendations

I am looking for a good book (I'll take an article, even) on record keeping
for writers. By record keeping I mean both the financial aspects of it and
also keeping track of query letters, submissions, etc. Anyone with methods
that work for them (do you have favorite software, for example) please chime
in.
