This is not responsive to your question, I know, because the book is a
couple of years old. But the best book I've seen on water gardening is _The
Ecosystem Pond_ from Aquascape. Yes, they are a company that sells and
installs ponds, but their approach to ponds is balance rather than humungous
filters, an approach I favor, and it explains clearly how to get there and
what to do if you haven't. The book isn't as commercial as, say, The Tool
Book from Smith and Hawkin, it is lavishly and well illustrated,
comprehensive.
Favored books on my shelves tend to select themselves. When I have a
question, there are some books I reach for first. This is the my first go-to
book for water gardening.
