Re: Kids Books


Speaking as a former children's librarian, mother of two, and grandmother  
of three, the hands-down best "garden" book for kids is Barbara Cooney's 
magical  Miss Rumphius.
 
Don't over look Ruth Krausâs classic The Carrot Seed. See if you  like Lois 
Ehlertâs Growing Vegetable Soup and Planting a  Rainbow, or Eve Bunting's 
The Sunflower House. Other ideas: Shari  Halpern, The Surprise Garden; Gail 
Gibbons, From Seed to  Plant; Vivian French, Oliver's Garden; Dyanne 
Disalvor-yan,  City Green; Dianna Hutts Aston, A Seed Is Sleepy.
 
Unlike RSB&B, most of these titles are fiction but the "garden"  
information is generally pretty good.
