Re: Top 10 of all time

I have nominated this one for other top tens:
"Gathering Moss--A Natural and Cultural History of Mosses" by Robin Wall Kimmerer
It's a series of essays written at the confluence of the author's two life streams--as a bryologist and a member of the Potawami tribe. I live in the Pacific Northwest, and after reading "Gathering Moss" I have never looked at the natural world (or my garden) in the same way. Besides, it's the only garden book that made me cry. (See the chapter "The Forest Gives Thanks to the Mosses.")
