Top 10 Gardening books

1. Rosalind Creasy¹s The Complete Book of Edible Landscaping. Even before I
knew Ros, this book was well thumbed and marked on my bookshelf. Of course
the new edition Edible Landscaping , due out in November will be a new
favorite (no prejudice that I¹ve been working with her on it for years).
Also her Cooking from the Garden - introducing so many new vegetables and
herbs.

2. Hortus III. Yes, it¹s a dinosaur and doesn¹t have the latest botanical
names, but it has some of the best information and it¹s all-American.

3. Michael Pollan¹s Second Nature A Gardener¹s Education (and everything
else he has written) - his writing style is so winning. And who knew when he
wrote this book where it would all go?

4. Rodale¹s All-New Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening the Bible for
organic gardening

5., 6, Barbara Pleasant¹s The Gardener¹s Weed Book and Gardener¹s Guide
to Plant Diseases and The Gardener¹s Bug Book - excellent references to
everything that can go wrong.

7. Cutler, Karan Davis¹ Burpee: The Complete Vegetable & Herb Gardener -
the best vegetable and herb reference book.

8. Nancy Bubel¹s The New Seed Starter¹s Handbook Talk about an oldie, but
goodie.....this book has been thumbed and copied and underlined and referred
to a thousand times.

** 9. Sharon Lovejoy¹s Hollyhock Days : Garden Adventures for the Young at
Heart great book for children and the child in all of us.

10. Sunset¹s Western Garden Book I wish I liked the National one as much,
but trying to teach folks new zones, well, the heat zone hasn¹t taken off.

** Children¹s book, too

Cathy
