Re: Eastern Oregon


Eastern Oregon is indeed high desert. It's beautiful but quite empty. Towns are small and scattered. Lots of hot springs. If potato farming is horticultural activity, there's plenty of that near the Idaho line. They also grow lots of hay and mint, thanks to irrigation from reservoirs and the Snake River. Buy gas whenever you find it. 
It's a very different place than the OR west of the Cascades.

I could be wrong, but I think most of the nursery activity in Oregon would 
be on the western side, not the eastern....which is mostly high 
desert...lots of sagebrush though!
