Re: plant names

I agree about not using caps on common names.

My question is about plants with trademarked and registered names. Do
we have to keep using (TM) or (R) for every reference to these names
or just the first time they're cited?

On the Pan American Seed website, for example, they have Divine (TM)
F1 Series New Guinea Impatiens as a headline. Later they refer to
Divine New Guinea Impatiens (all caps, no more TM).

On the Ball website I see, for example, Divine Cherry Red New Guinea
Impatiens and Divine Violet New Guinea Impatiens (no TM, all caps).

SO if I'm writing about these plants, can I just call them Divine
Violet or Divine Cherry Red after I've already used the complete,
correct plant name for the initial identification?

EXAMPLE: "I have been thrilled with the Divine (TM) F1 Series New
Guinea Impatiens. I especially like Divine VIolet and Divine Cherry."
