Re: plant names


Quick example of what I would do.

The hosta looks great at your place. (common name)

Lady X's garden contains rare Hosta cultivars.  (Botanical name even without the species name.)

Thanks, Suzy. I have an AP style guide and common names would not be upper case, but so many garden writers and hort people use caps for common names and that's why I was trying to see what the thinking was.
