Flies, smells or worms migrating from the wormbin are signals that
something is wrong in the wormery. I won't bore you with the details of
running a wormery properly, but here's a tip on how to prevent the flies.
Cover the top of each fresh layer of kitchen waste with a couple of sheets
of newspaper (not glossy magazines) so that none of the waste is exposed.
That has other beneficial side effects too.
