I don't know the exact legalities, but all I've ever done in the past is credit the source, and nobody has ever gotten upset.

Most recently we included a recipe from Rosalind Creasy's "The Edible Rainbow Garden" in one of my Mother Earth stories and that's how it appears.

Common courtesy, however, would dictate you you ask the publisher or writer for permission to do this. I'm sure that's what my editor did
