Title: Re: [GWL] Apples? That depends on what you consider an apple. There is a small "apple" of sorts at the base of an apple blossom. It becomes visible as a small fruit usually within a couple of weeks of petal fall. If you need research on this, I'd suggest you go to http://www.nafex.org and join the North American Fruit Explorers. They can give you tons of information on fruit. Alternatively, look up the book "Apples For The 21st Century" by Warren Manhart.
