RE: Two hour class question
...and teach them about succession planting for the lettuce and radishes to
stretch picking times and companion planting of herbs, edible flowers and
putting their coffee grind slurry out for the slugs, and how to tell a good
bug (Ladybugs for example are common) from a bad one. And try to take them
on a field trip when the weather breaks to see a real garden. Show them the
seed catalogs and go to a grocery store if all else fails! I'm always amazed
when grocery clerks ask me what my kale and cilantro and okra is when they
check me out. I guess they wouldn't know what lettuce was if it didn't come
in a bag!
