Re: New list member

Hello Robyn
Welcome to the forum. Just think, while you're enjoying your barbeque, we in Atlantic Canada are shovelling 3+ feet (1metre) of freshly fallen snow!
What is new and exciting in Australian gardening this year? Here in Nova Scotia we're still enthralled with perennials in pots, black foliage, and lush tropical leaved plants for our gardens. (We just want to be warm!)
As for starting your writing career, you sound well on your way if you're already giving talks. What surprises a lot of new writers is the time you have to spend on other things besides writing - research, queries, organization, building relationships with editors, etc. One of the fastest ways to get into print is to write for your local newspaper or horticultural business. You may even convince them you could develop a newsletter for their customers or staff. Were you poor in English, or just weren't interested at the time? You may need someone with good English skills to edit your work.
Good luck, and send us warm thoughts!
Sincerely,
Carol
