Re: Going digital, projectors, cameras, was New list member

Wow!
First of all, thank you all so much for your warm welcome and great tips, on and off list. I have taken it all on board and will get back to you asap but for now I have a talk to work on for our Australia Day Picnic and seed swap tomorrow Jan 26 in the eco garden. I'll be talking about Seeds, Weeds and Permaculture and the links between them. These are the hot topics over here at the moment, in fact anything to do with sustainable living, organic foods and permaculture will get people's attention. Bill Mollison, founder of The Permaculture Institute is alive and well and still living in Tasmania, Jeff, in fact I did my certificate course with him in 2000 and I'm currently working towards the Diploma of Permaculture Design. Pc gardens have been winning environmental awards all over the place and as far as I'm aware it's thriving in the US too. I've just sent my first article to a magazine over there because we don't have anything equivalent in this country. And yes Carol, we'll be sweltering in the heat out there tomorrow, we just want to be COOL! In recent times I've taken to standing in front of the refrigerator and letting the cold air fall on me. Bushfires are a real worry for us and fire-proofing your house and garden is also a hot issue, pardon the pun, or is it an oxymoron? You are right, I wasn't interested at all in school.

Just a quick word about going digital, I use both but I like my SLR camera best, first of all because of the photo quality and secondly because I can get them developed straight to CD and it saves on disc space in my hard drive. I only need to copy the ones I want to use.

The last time I checked out prices for a projector that would connect to my laptop, they wanted $12,000 AUD which is out of the question for me.
Kind regards,
Robyn
