Polite Discourse

Given the animated discussion today about Food for Thought, I'm reminding 
everyone about what is out of bounds on the GWL listserv.  As I stated when 
this list went through transition due to bad behavior last fall, there are 
three things I will NOT tolerate.

1.  Personal attacks.  Keep your discourse on the issue and do NOT demonize 
the person.  It's all right to disagree with what a person writes, but do 
NOT attack the person.  Attack their stand.
2.  Bullying.  If you bully others, I'll unsubscribe you immediately, and 
you will never be admitted to this listserv again.
3.  Profanity.  It has no place in any polite conversation.

The discussion on terminator genes is interesting, and I've learned things I 
didn't know.  Despite, an earlier post from one of you asking that this 
discussion be stopped, terminator genes are germane to garden writing.  When 
we can give others documentation, information here-to-for unknown and 
provoke thought, the topic belongs on this listserv.  With such discussions, 
we all should be able to communicate more cogently to the public about the 
topic discussed.

In summary, please remember your manners, don't disparage another's 
point-of-view and keep politics out of the discussion.
