GWA Region 1 Meeting

It¹s time to register for the annual GWA Region 1 Luncheon at New England
Grows! Region 1 director Maree Gaetani sent me the details:

Please join us for a wine-tasting, lunch & networking session and panel
discussion on Organic Lawn Care and alternatives to a lawn. Many
cities, counties are legislating organic lawn care - what will this mean
for the average homeowner? What research, products and information
is out there that can help consumers make the transition? We know
the facts: synthetic chemicals (as well as the "inert" ingredients) in
pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers are linked to health risks for
humans and pets, as well as watershed problems, natural resource
shortages and global warming. The newest generation of organic
products and techniques are far more effective than earlier versions.
Please join us for wine, networking session, lunch & a lively
discussion with panelists with a wide range of expertise. (Panelists:
Karen Bates, Department of Environmental Conservation; Tom Smarr,
New England Wild Flower Society; Paul Tukey, People, Places & Plants)

DATE: Wednesday, February 7, 2007, from 11:30 AM
